I'm Marcus Tiernan, an independent insurance broker based in Denver, Colorado. Before this, I spent 8 years working claims for a major insurer. I've seen what happens when coverage fails — and it's not pretty.

I built Insurance Calc Tool because I got tired of seeing families learn they were underinsured the hard way. The tools here are based on real math, real claims data, and 15 years of watching people make the same mistakes over and over.

When I'm not crunching numbers, I'm usually hiking with my dog Buck in the foothills, arguing with my kids about screen time, or trying to convince my wife that we don't need a bigger truck.

Why I Do This

Insurance is boring. I get it. But being underinsured when your house burns down is way more boring — and expensive. My goal is simple: give you the numbers you need to make informed decisions, without the sales pitch.

What Makes This Different

Most insurance "calculators" on the internet are lead generation tools. They collect your data and sell it to agents. This site doesn't do that. No signup required. No email wall. Your data stays in your browser.

I make money through affiliate links to insurance comparison sites and display ads. That's it. No hidden agendas.
